The Transformative Power of Music and Vibration with Sound Alchemist Laura Inserra

Every cell of your body right now is vibrating and has its own frequency.” – Laura Inserra

In this episode of the Corporate Unplugged podcast, Vesna sits down with renowned sound alchemist, multi-instrumentalist, and multimedia producer Laura Inserra. She shares her profound insights on the vibrational essence of the universe and the profound healing power of music.

Unlocking the Vibrational Essence

Laura’s deep understanding of the vibrational essence of the universe was shaped by her immersion in diverse spiritual, philosophical and cultural traditions from an early age. Growing up in Sicily, she was deeply connected to the natural world, engaging in animistic dialogues with the elements around her. This innate sensitivity to unseen energies and frequencies was further developed through her studies of Vedic philosophy, Tantric practices, and the shamanic wisdom of indigenous cultures. Laura’s personal experiences, such as the pivotal moment of discovering her musical gifts while playing her brother’s guitar, reinforced her conviction that sound and vibration held the keys to unlocking deeper truths about the nature of reality and the human experience. Her travels and collaborations with teachers and mentors from around the world contributed to her work as a “sound alchemist,” bridging ancient knowledge with modern applications to facilitate profound healing and transformation through the power of music.

“For me… in my journey of looking at different traditions, philosophies, religions, wisdom, schools, I’ve noticed what they really mean for the beginning of life: I always found this vibrational element.”

Laura points to the Vedic traditions, which describe the universe as “Nada, Brahma” – Vibration is the foundation of all creation. Similarly, in the Bible, “God said the light it is, and light it was” – suggesting that the primordial act was not light itself, but the vibrational utterance that brought it into being.

The Power of Music to Heal and Transform

Laura’s work is rooted in this understanding of the universe as fundamentally vibrational. She explains how music can be a powerful tool for healing and transformation by resonating with the body’s natural frequencies.

Everything vibrates. So every cell of your body right now is vibrating and has its own frequency. Your heart is pulsing. Thankfully, otherwise you would not be here… this pulsing is taking you into this three dimensional world, into being human...”

When we’re exposed to certain instruments and sounds, especially ancient ones made with personal intention, they can hit our bodies and create “sympathetic resonance.” This allows stagnant energies and emotions to be released, as the cells and systems of the body begin to oscillate more freely.

“So when these cells are finally moving a little bit more extensively, memories start to rise. And for some people that movement, that possibility to move these areas of our system, that’s already healing. Because, as we know, a lot of health issues happen from stagnation of energy that is stored in different parts of our system or our body… It’s not really in the mind… I feel it’s really in this holistic body that music allows emotion – emotion, energy in motion – and allows areas of your body to finally move again.”

Laura’s work with ‘meta music’ explores how the individual’s unique experience and inner landscape can shape their response to sound. Rather than a one-size-fits-all approach, meta music acknowledges that the same instrument or piece can evoke vastly different reactions and insights for different people.

“It is almost like dream work. It means that there is something there – there is communication. There is information that is really important for you to decipher. And in that, there is something, a message that is for you. And to another person, the same tune, they start to cry, and they don’t even know why.”

Creating Immersive “Chambers of Awe”

Laura’s work as a sound alchemist extends well beyond individual healing sessions into large-scale, immersive experiences she calls ‘Chambers of Awe’. These blend ancient instruments, low-frequency drones, and 360-degree visuals to create shamanic-like journeys.

The music and these sacred instruments and the augmentation of some sources of sounds from these instruments create lower frequencies; a kind of drone that resonates now in your bones. And on top of it, I add the 360 visuals as a kind of amplification of the musical message. And most of them are journeys, almost shamanic journeys. They call them psychedelic journeys without medicine, because they take you into other ancient memories…  They take you into an experience.”

A Message for Leaders

When Vesna asks what advice she would give to leaders, Laura emphasizes the importance of being open, flexible and protective of one’s people. She stresses that leaders should not solely focus on achieving goals and pushing their teams to perform, but rather consider the long-term ‘arch of time’. She believes leaders must be willing to adapt their paths to success, remaining attuned to the needs of their people. To treat their employees like family members, having their backs no matter what challenges arise. By cultivating a culture of trust, where people feel their unique gifts are valued, Laura believes leaders can inspire unwavering loyalty and support, even in the face of difficulties.

The Future Laura Wants to See

Above all, Laura reminds and encourages us all to learn from nature’s cooperative model, using technology to augment human abilities rather than replace them.

We are kind of catching up with ancient wisdom and ancient technology. That’s why I always define my work as a bridge between ancient technology and modern technology, because I believe we need both.”

Laura envisions a future where humanity prioritizes kindness, unity and a reverence for the natural world, using technology to augment rather than replace human abilities. By tapping into the vibrational essence of existence through music and sound, Laura’s work facilitates profound healing, expanded consciousness, and a reconnection to our shared humanity.
